Mother Me Birth Works Chicago Book a free call

For new and working doulas

You are good at the birth part. Let’s fix the rest.

Most people who come to this work are good with families and lost with everything else. Invoices, contracts, a website, an LLC, knowing what to charge. That is the part that ends doula careers, not the births.

What it covers

The birth work

Live sessions with me, plus support between them. Comfort measures, reading a room, knowing your scope, and what to do when you are at a birth and something happens that you did not expect.

The business

Bookkeeping set up properly. A real website. A checklist for registering your business, sorting your state paperwork, and getting insured. Done with you, not handed to you as a PDF.

Mentoring, not just training

Somewhere to bring the hard ones. The birth that went sideways, the client you cannot read, the moment you wondered whether you are cut out for this. Everyone has those.

Support that is not my phone at 3am

A resource library, office hours, and a group channel, so you have somewhere to go without needing me personally awake. Better for you and honestly better for me.

Why train with someone doing the work

I am not a training organisation that stopped attending births in 2009. I still teach, still support families, and I work with the doula program serving high-risk Medicaid patients in Chicago. What I teach is what I am doing this month.

It also means I will tell you the unglamorous parts. What this pays. What it costs you. Which clients to say no to, and how.
